Hello!
So I started school this week ... That's never fun or exciting.
This week I also watched season 1 and 2 of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and I have to say I LOVE GORDON RAMSAY! That is one inspirational man. Anyway for many episodes he gets pissed off when English people can't make proper Yorkshire Pudding. So I thought, challenge accepted Ramsay! I've never made it before, and never really eaten it but 2 seasons of that show made me crave yorkshire pudding in gravy so bad.
Here is my successful run at them (which p.s. they were super easy so I don't understand how so many restaurant owners failed so hard. Maybe I'm just awesome):
For some reason one of the middle ones didn't rise but I like the first picture because it looks like a pac-man.
MORE IMPORTANTLY! NEXT SATURDAY (SEPT 3, 2011) WE ARE PLAYING A SHOW WITH OUR BUDDIES THE KOALAS AT CLYDE'S! MAKE SURE TO COME BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T PLAYED A SHOW IN A WHILE!

Canadian Pie
Hey Y'all!
I've noticed that we talk about food pretty often on our blog. Guess what? This post will ALSO be about food. The girls and I have had some delicious food this week that I'd like to share with you.
Tuesday night: We headed on over to Martin's apartment and were lucky enough to enjoy some bacon spheres with a garlic-packed mashed potato topping, apple pork with a pecan topping and a chocolate & peanut butter pie. For those who are wondering what's in a bacon sphere, get ready to have your mind blown: the core of the sphere contained cheddar cheese and jalapeno peppers, surrounded by a baseball-sized meatball made of Italian sausage. Then, the meatball was wrapped in candied bacon and baked in the oven. Before being wrapped around the meatball, the bacon was covered with brown sugar and baked in the oven. (I am so hungry right now. Note: never write a food blog before eating lunch). Once cooked, the bacon sphere was topped with a nice dollop of mashed potatoes.

A Beautiful Bacon Sphere |
Sharing the plate with the bacon sphere was Martin’s apple pork dish. I wish I had taken a photo to show you! The pork was cooked and served with apples, then topped with a chopped pecan topping. The topping added the perfect amount of sweetness to the dish. Speaking of sweetness… Diana made probably the most delicious pie I’ve ever had. It contained chocolate, peanut butter, cool whip and a graham cracker crust. Seriously, what else do you need in a pie?! Apparently, banana. This was added to version 2 of the pie, which was eaten on Friday.

Diana's Chocolate & Peanut Butter Pie |
Friday night: MARATHON SOUVLAKI. That’s all I’m going to say about that. Then, the banana chocolate peanut butter pie (with a chocolate crust!) was enjoyed. Unfortunately, I was not able to try that pie, but I heard that eating it was a magical experience.
Ok, time for lunch! Hope you all have a delicious week :)

Teenage Dream
OMG YOU GUYS IT'S TOTALLY PROM TIME!
So last night we went out for Diana's birthday and to avoid feeling like we're getting old (and to wear the fancy dresses we always buy for no reason) Diana decided to have a prom themed birthday!! It was SO much fun! We started off the evening at La Milsa which is an "all you can eat" MEAT restaurant! Hello, genius idea! Then we went dancing at McKibbins. I have to admit, I wasn't sure how McKibbins would be, because we were looking for awesome 92.5/94.7 kind of dancing music. It was fantastic. Played all the cheesy (amazing) songs we wanted to hear and the dance floor was empty so we had it all to ourselves.
The absolute best part of the night was seeing all the ladies looking pretty in their dresses and seeing all the guys looking handsome in their suit apparel. Definitely an original idea! Go Diana.
p.s. when we were at La Milsa there were crazy dancing people and they got Diana, Vanessa and myself to dance and all we had to say at the end of it was "that lady's butt had a mind of it's own".
here is a blurry picture to prove that it happened. Also this is the only picture of us 3 all together :( Camera fail!
We also decided that we're starting a new version of FML, and that is FYL. So on that note...we went to prom this weekend and you didn't FYL.

Bicycle, bicycle
I try to go for a ride on the bike path along the lakeshore in Lachine at least once or twice a week, but today I decided to bring a camera to share a bit of the view. (I'm not great at taking pictures...)
Have a great week!!

Sail boats!
Seagulls!
Ducks!
My new favorite spot!
I wasn't tired when I got to where I usually turn around, so I kept going and found this really beautiful, quiet spot. The only problem was 10km later, I remembered that I still had to ride all the way home!
So that was my awesome 20km bike ride, here is some of my fav biking music:
Have a great week!!

Firework
Know what makes a great weekend? I'd say ... Mexican food, fireworks and Felix & Norton cookies. And finding free parking in Old Montreal! That's what we did Saturday night. First off, Diana and I had a deliiiiicious meal at a Mexican restaurant in Old Montreal called Casa de Mateo. To start, we each ordered a Tequila Sunrise: tequila, orange juice and grenadine. New favorite drink? Yes. Then we ordered some guacamole as an appetizer. A few minutes after we ordered it, a woman came to our table with a cart and made the guacamole right in front of us! As we waited for our main meals (fajitas and stuffed chicken), we got to enjoy the sweet sounds of a live MARIACHI BAND! I had never seen one before, other than on TV, so it was quite a treat to hear them. Not gonna lie, I've had "La Bamba" stuck in my head all day :)
After dinner, Diana and I headed to the Old Port to meet up with Kathy and Bronson. We found an excellent spot near the Clock Tower where we got a great view of the fireworks going off at La Ronde. It was amazing to see how many people came out to see the fireworks. And Old Montreal at night, all lit up, is probably my favorite area of the city. It's a beautiful place to be.
Finally, on our way back home, we spotted it: a Felix & Norton cookie truck. Kathy almost made us jump over a fence about 3.5 feet high to get to it faster! Seriously though, best cookies. They were so gooey and chocolatey, and full of butter. Great way to end the evening :)
Oh no, now I want a cookie...
Have a good night!

Run To You
Hey everyone!
So last week-ish we worked on this little gem for a contest that we are entering. It's a cover of Bryan Adams' "Run to You". If you're old school Line Spectra friends, you know that Bryan Adams is no stranger to our band.
Here is our cover. Go to our youtube channel and Like/Comment/Watch our video!
