Out on the Weekend

Hi all,

This was an awesome weekend FULL of shows. Friday night we had the pleasure of being a part of the FREQUINOX at Theatre Ste Catherine. Awesome show at a great venue with amazing perfomers and artists - couldn't ask for more. Shout out to Thick Blooded and Schrodinger Kats!
I brought my camera, but didn't take any pictures as usual...

Saturday night- super fun show at Piranha Bar. Big thanks to our dance instructors for the sweet moves.

Tonight- I'm on my way out to check out Luther Higgs with KEN mode at Katacombes which is sure to impress!

Tomorrow's going to be a sleepy day at work,

Sunday Bloody Sunday

This week, a song called "Friday" by Rebecca Black took the world by storm! Within days of it being posted, the video travelled around the world and quickly became dubbed the worst song/video EVER. (I feel bad for the girl!). Anyway, this inspired me to look up other fun songs that involve days of the week:

"Manic Monday" by The Bangles

"Tuesday's Dead" by Cat Stevens

"Wednesday Week" by The Undertones

"Thursday" by Asobi Seksu

"Friday" by Rebecca Black

"Saturday Night" by Whigfield

"Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2

Have a great week!

Radio Nowhere!

WE JUST GOT BACK FROM OUR FIRST BAND ROAD-TRIP!

As many of you know this past weekend we road tripped it to Toronto because we were playing a show as part of Canadian Music Week. CMW is awesome. The festival actually started Wednesday but because of all our schedules we were only able to go up on the Friday. Within 5 minutes of walking into the hotel where the conferences and music booths were set up we bumped into 3 of our Montreal friend bands! All Day Dreamers, Mad June and Red October. Funny how we had to drive all the way to Toronto to see some friends we haven't seen in a while! I could honestly blog about the festival forever. It was so much fun. We were able to sat in during Melissa Ethridge's key-note which was pretty rad. She seemed so genuine and sweet :) We got to shmooze and introduce ourselves to all kinds of important people. As for the show itself, we played with some great bands and made some sweet new band-friends that we will definitely keep in touch with.

Most importantly, this would NOT be a Line Spectra blog post without some FOOD!! We started off our trip at a stop in Kingston for Red Lobster! True story we barged in at 11, as soon as the doors opened. We were the only people under age 85.
Turns out, two of these bad boys is equal to the calories and fat of a big mac. We ate about 3 each, minumum.
We also went out for Korean BBQ...oh.my.god. we were skeptical at first but it was so so so so so good.
Of course, it was an "all you can eat" restaurant, so we did and we regretted it so fast (but not really).
Our last amazing food adventure was to a little place called Chipotle Mexican
I realize Diana does not look too impressed here, but trust me that is a face for me and not for our delicious burritos. They were seriously some of the best I ever had!

We also spent a good chunk of time shopping of course.

All in all I had an amazing time and I can't wait for future road trips and adventures!
<3 Kathy p.s. this is the only photo I have of the 3 of us from our trip

I delayed writting my blog because I didn't know what to write about this week...So as my punishment I'm going to admit I spent the weekend watching season 2 of The O.C. on DVD. That being said, I do still love that show and the music that was on it. Here's a bunch of songs from the show - hope they get you all nostalgic!

THANKS!!
